Everyone and our luggage arrived safely, most of us between midnight and 4am. Touring starts this morning at 10. We are 12.5 hours ahead of Central Time so it’s pretty easy to keep track.
Yep, the driving is adventurous here! Stop lights and white lane dividers seem to be “suggestions” for drivers. And that was in the wee hours.
Pride Hotel is very nice. The lights don’t work unless you put your room key in a slot on the wall. Very clever! They don’t work at all this morning–maybe we don’t get juice during certain hours. Don’t know…
So glad you are there safely. Enjoy!
So glad you have arrived safe and sound! 12 1/2 hr. – that would be easy to figure out as long as you translate the right direction!
Jon told me about your trip and blog. Glad you made it safe and sound. Very exciting adventure it sounds like! I was recently in a hotel in Dublin that had the same system — putting the key card in a slot to get power. A smart idea. A bunch of colleagues from Chennai were at the same hotel and we were all caught between timezones (lots of tea helped with that). Enjoy your adventure!
This is so much fun–I’ll never think of India the same way again, after just 2 days here. We flying to Madurai to see a temple, then going to Tanjore to spend the night. Hard to find time to write complete sentences, though I taking lots of notes and pictures!
